Send us your photos: your office, your building, your team at work. Aim for at least ten, the larger the better. We place them on your site, and once your preview is ready you can swap any photo on its page in Your site. Attorney headshots go in the next step.
What makes a great attorney photo
Natural light
Face a window or stand in open shade outdoors. No flash, no harsh overhead light.
Plain background
A plain wall, soft greenery, or your office blurred behind you. Nothing busy behind your head.
Eye level
The camera at your eye height, a step or two away, chest up. A phone's portrait mode works well.
Everyone the same
Same background, light, distance, and dress for every attorney, so the team looks like a team.
Look like you
Recent, lightly retouched at most, and a relaxed, friendly expression. Clients should recognize you when they meet you.
Big files
Send the original, at least 2,000 pixels tall. We crop and size it for every screen.

Your photos, page by page
Pick a page to see every photo on it. A spot you leave empty uses your design’s own photography, so nothing is ever blank.

Your photos
Everything you’ve uploaded. Once a photo is on your site, it says where.
Step 04
Attorneys
One profile for each attorney: name, title, bio, schools, bar admissions, and a photo. Their page on your site shows all of it. You can edit any of it later.
Recognized by
Firm badges and awards
Awards, ratings, and memberships given to your firm. They show in a “Recognized by” row on your homepage, together with the badges on your attorneys’ profiles. Only add honors you actually received, with the year and a link to your public profile that shows it. We check each one against that link before it appears on your live site.
Where to get the official badge
Super Lawyers / Rising Stars: sign in to the attorney’s SuperLawyers.com profile and press Download badge. Badges are issued to each selected lawyer, for each year.
Best Lawyers / Best Law Firms: logos are licensed to firms and lawyers in the rankings, for a set period. Use the file Best Lawyers sends you.
Martindale-Hubbell (AV Preeminent and other ratings): download the rating seal from your Martindale profile and follow its use guidelines.
Bar sections, associations, and academies: use the logo the organization gives members, if it allows members to use it.
Most programs set rules for how their badge is shown, such as showing the year. If a program asks for a line of wording beside its badge, put it in “Wording the program requires”.
Step 05
Your voice
How your blog drafts, chat, and replies should sound.
Step 06
Fees and pricing
Consultation fee, flat fees, payment plans. These show in a Fees list on your Contact page and beside each practice area. Guardrail checks every line first, and a line it flags stays off your site until you reword it.
Step 07
Access
Invite us wherever you can. It’s safer than sharing a password.
Optional · about your practice
A few questions for your website
Answer in your own words, the way you’d tell a new client. Short answers are fine. Our team turns them into your pages, and you approve every word before it goes live. Not sure about one? Skip it and we’ll leave that part out for now.
Optional · your existing content
Send us what you already have
Old website pages, Word documents, PDFs, brochures, notes, saved emails, scans: send all of it. We build your pages from what you send and nothing else, and you approve every word before anything goes live. This step doesn’t hold up your launch.
Good links to send: a Google Drive or Dropbox folder (set to “anyone with the link”), your old website, and your Avvo, Google, or state bar profiles.
Want us to move it all for you?
Moving your main pages and redirecting every old address is part of your setup. For everything else, pick a package. It’s charged to the card on file when you order, plus any sales tax.
Step 08
Review and submit
Opens when the other seven steps are done.
?How this worksEverything we need to build your site, in eight steps you can do in any order.
On your website: Your phone, email, address, hours, practice areas, cities, logo, colors, photos, and attorney profiles all appear on your website.
Firm basics: how clients reach you, your hours, practice areas (one per line), and the cities you serve.
Brand: upload the largest logo file you have and pick your colors. Not sure about colors? Leave them and we match your logo.
Photos and video: attorneys, your office, your team. Aim for at least ten. Attorney photos appear on their profile and team sections once attached in step 4. Choose which photo goes in each place on your site page by page; photos you haven’t placed are kept but not shown. No client photos or case documents, please.
Attorneys: one profile each, with a title and a short bio. Guardrail checks the bio as you type. Each attorney shows their photo beside their name; press Edit to change a name, title, or bio.
Your voice: three sliders and a few words that tell us how your writing should sound, plus questions clients ask you most.
Fees and pricing: one line per fee, for example a free consultation. Lines that pass Guardrail show in a Fees list on your Contact page and each practice-area page.
Access: invite us to your old website, domain, or Google accounts. For a login that can only be shared as a password, use the Vault.
Review and submit opens when the other seven steps are done. Press Submit for build.
What happens next: Everything saves as you go, and the progress bar updates. After you submit, we write your site’s words and send them to the Your site page for your approval. Once your site is built, changes you make here reach it when you press Update my site now on the Your site page.
